Meet our Faculty

imageMrs. Padma Venkatraman started Global Children Montessori School in 2003. She is the Director and the teacher of the “green” classroom. Mrs. Padma holds a Masters Degree in Montessori Education along with Montessori Certification from Associate Montessori International. She has been working with preschool children for the past 13 years. She lives in Ellicott City with her husband and two sons. She loves to read books and cook. Her hobbies are gardening, running and traveling.
imageMrs. Dency Mani is the Assistant teacher of the “green classroom” . She is living in Laurel with her husband and three daughters. Mrs. Dency has been a Global Children parent for the past 7 years and joined as an assistant teacher from January 2014. She holds a Bachelor’s degree for Psychology and Masters in Special Education. She has worked as a teacher for special need kids for 5 years. Her hobbies are reading, running, dancing and gardening. She states that she is a frustrated gardner because all her hard work gets eaten by animals.
imageMrs. Mitra is the leading teacher of the “Blue” classroom. She holds a Bachelor Degree for Education and Montessori Certification from Associate Montessori International. She has been a preschool teacher for the past 25 years. She is a great mentor for all the other teachers of Global Children Montessori. Her hobbies are crochet, Tai-chi, music and loves to travel.
imageMrs. Tere Bauer is the assistant teacher of the “Blue classroom”. She is also our Spanish teacher who brings the Spanish language and Spain art and dance into the classroom. She holds Early Childhood degree from Spain and also Montessori Certificate from Associate Montessori International. She has worked 7 years as a lead Montessori teacher in Atlanta. Mrs. Tere lives in Elkridge with her husband and 4 beautiful children. Her hobbies are Yoga, hiking and running. She was born and raised in Barcelona and love to watch soccer with family and friends!!
imageMrs. Joanne is our music teacher. She studied music performance, music education and early childhood development at Minot State University. During her studies, she was introduced to the Montessori classroom. She owns a music school (www.soundwavesofmusic.com) in Maryland and have taught every level from infants to retired adults. Children loves her music class and look forward to see her once a week. She loves spending time outdoors with her husband and 2 children. She loves to bike, run and swim.
imageMrs. Dereka Gregory is our after school program teacher. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Psychology from Towson University. She is also exposed to Montessori method through her training. She has been working in the Montessori classroom since 1999. She was born and raised in the Washington DC area. Mrs. Dereka enjoys reading, writing and shopping. She conducts the arts and craft program for after school program. Mrs. Dereka lives in Laurel with her husband Mr. William.
